# Authentication

> Authenticate Shape and DataDome solver requests with an Evade bearer key.

Every protected Shape and DataDome solver endpoint requires a bearer token:

```http theme={null}
Authorization: Bearer evde_REPLACE_ME
```

Evade API keys use the `evde_` prefix. Keep the complete value on your backend
and out of URLs, JSON bodies, browser code, mobile applications, logs, and
source control.

## Shape quota headers

Limited keys receive:

| Header | Meaning |
| - | - |
| `X-RateLimit-Limit` | Admissions in the recurring window |
| `X-RateLimit-Remaining` | Admissions left after this request |
| `X-RateLimit-Reset` | Window reset time in Unix seconds |

Only a successful solve consumes one unit. Failed, timed-out, canceled, and
rejected requests are not charged, and the quota headers reflect the refund.
